Ed Storti provides online aids for clinics
Paul K. Ward, 11/30/98

Ed Storti (ICADC, Intervention Specialist) inaugurated a Web site that provides some basic informational resources to aid clinics in educating its clients about the benefits of intervening in the lives of addicted persons. "Interventions save lives," says Mr. Storti. "The more information people can get, as easily as possible, the more lives can be saved."

Mr. Storti has created a series of answers to frequently asked questions that include the latest information about interventions and drug addiction. These answers also reflect decades of experience in over 3000 interventions personally supervised by Mr. Storti, a leader in the field and the founder of a "model" of intervention that emphasizes motivating the patient to receive care on their own.

The Web site also provides abbreviated answers to the questions for laypeople.

As the site develops, Mr. Storti will augment the tools he provides to clinics to make their work more effective and simpler. "My goal is to make an impact at every step of a patient's experience with intervention, so that the process is clear and as simple as possible," said Mr. Storti. "This is an awfully difficult time for anyone addicted to drugs or alcohol. Their experience with the 'system' should not add to the difficulty of their problems."

"Ed becomes a 'member of the family' when he intervenes. He supports a patient not only throughout treatment, but actively participates in aftercare and followup as well. He stays in communication with his families assuring a good head start on the journey to a better life," said Loti Shea-Guest, National Representative of Cottonwood de Tucson, a major national rehabilitation clinic. Praised by major clinics and hospitals across the United States, Mr. Storti has been noted for his careful attention to advising families and friends on the entire range of experiences and possibilities involved with intervention. "I hope to make my experience something that clinics can use more often to help more people, whether or not I'm involved," said Mr. Storti.

Ed Storti (ICADC, Intervention Specialist) has been practicing Motivational Interventionsm techniques for decades, winning the loyalty of clinics and the gratitude of clients in over 3000 interventions.
